Toyota Offers Apology to Chinese Consumers for Recalls

Toyota Motor Corp. President Akio Toyota apologized to Chinese Consumers for recall of Toyota cars at a press conference on Mar.1, Xinhuanet reported.

"I would like to express my sincere apologies as the massive global recalls have affected and worried Chinese customers," Toyoda said.

The company recalled a total of 75,552 RAV4 sport-utility vehicles in China in late January due to an accelerator pedal problem.

Toyota was questioned on the safety recalls on Feb.24 at a hearing by the U.S. House Oversight and Government Reform Committee.
