Abhisit's Vision for Thailand Reconciliation

In an exclusive interview with Thailand's Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva, BOCVIP.COM learnt of Thailand's plans for the future. Mr Abhisit Vejjajiva articulates how the recent strategy of reconciliation is an approach to identify and address the controversial issues that led to divisions and conflicts in his country. The deadly clash between former PM Thaksin's "red-shirts" and the government was reignited from March to May. However, Mr Abhisit believes that technical changes to the 2007 constitution combined with existing initiatives could see stability return to Thailand. Inequality, particularly in the agricultural sector, has also been a great concern. Consequently, the Thai PM has called for "tolerance" and he believes the people will naturally be empowered once the nation is united. It is thought this will then create greater security for the poor and sustainable economic growth.
