Today marks 11 years since the passing of Hal Finney, one of the true pioneers of cryptocurrency. He was the very first person to ever receive Bitcoin from Satoshi Nakamoto back in January 2009.
But Hal’s influence was much bigger than that single event. He helped develop Pretty Good Privacy (PGP), a key tool for digital encryption, and also created the first reusable proof-of-work system.
Hal dedicated his life to championing privacy, decentralization, and financial freedom. His legacy lives on not just in Bitcoin, but in the entire movement for digital privacy and open financial systems.
A true legend!

RIP, probably the only person that had a clue who Satoshi was.
