So my friend wants to start an ecommerce business where he's gonna sell tshirts. He had a huge budget for meta ads and is expecting at least 100,000 people every month on the website. But he has no idea about web hosting at all. I told him that he can go with A2 hosting or digital ocean but then I am not sure. Although I found a website named hosting battle where they have a lot of web hosting services with detailed reviews but he doesn't know what kind of web hosting does he need.

When I checked other brands, a lot of ecom brands are using shopify or wordpress woocommerce for their website. But I can't see what kind of hosting they're using lol.

Do you think he needs a dedicated web hosting? Or something else?

Which is the best web hosting for a big websites?

If your friend is going with Shopify, they have fully managed hosting as part of their subscription plans.

    2. If your friend has to ask this part, he has no idea what he’s doing and is about to blow a lot of money on Meta ads.

    3. Depends what technology stack he’s going with for the website. What e-commerce platform is he on? Most e-commerce is best served by just hosting with the platform rather than self hosting elsewhere. If they are using Shopify, host on Shopify.

Also if he’s just starting he’s vastly overestimating his monthly traffic. Launch and then use data to see what your click rate is and conversion rate is. Just because you post ads doesn’t mean you’ll get clicks. Which is why you should always start by launching a small ad at the beginning with a targeted segment then analyze the data to calculate your scale.

Shopify if you want fully managed solution.
If you want to develop custom software, AWS hosting is most cost effective and scalable. For static sites (static build but dynamic content), you can use AWS CloudFront (Most cost effective, fast and scalable), for React you can use Amplify.
