A house that was listed for sale two months ago sold to a renting company for a $20k discount. The company immediately relisted it as a “for sale by owner” at the original price. I saw the home and there wasn’t anything wrong with it other than the yard: it desperately needs a new fence and there’s a pond that needs to be filled in. Why would the renting company re-list the home instead of listing it for rent? Why not go through an agent?

Why would a renting company list a property for sale?

My guess? Either they are flipping it for profit or they bought it, found out it needs extensive or costly repairs, and are trying to unload it.
