Was your policy active? Yes? Then you’re likely fine barring some other coverage issue.
What would be the difference if an accident occurred on day 1 compared to day 360? Accidents can happen anytime, that’s why you have insurance.
If the policy was in force, they cannot refuse to handle a valid claim.
I work in insurance claims and it doesn’t really matter if you’ve been a customer for 50 years or our carrier provided the lowest quote while you are at the dealership and you wrecked the car on the drive home.
In force means in force.
Don’t work for Progressive, but I am pretty sure you’ll be fine. Insurance is a Shared Risk: they are able to take care of you even when you haven’t been with them long because they have so many other customers. I would check with Progressive for any specifics, but I doubt you’ll have any issues with filing a claim (as long as you have the correct coverage for the damage, and haven’t done something like deliberately get into an accident to get a payout).
