Hello. I am absolutely bewildered about my student loans at the moment, as many would be, and am looking for some guidance! I am a first generation college student, so I have no parental advice to lean on when it comes to this stuff.
In short, I work for a healthcare system that helps pay for my classes (up to 6 credit hours). I took zero loans out this semester, but I hold a bachelor’s degree that I took out loans for. I am currently enrolled at least half time (9 credit hours) as I am taking extra classes to qualify for Physician Assistant school. My understanding was that I’d be in deferment as I take these classes since I’m at least half time. When I called MOEHLA, they stated that I am in deferment and I have no balance due. However, my credit report is getting absolutely demolished by my student loans.
Could anyone offer any insight on this? Is there a step I’m missing? Could my school not be reporting me as in school and I need to fix that with them? Any advice is welcome as I have no one to turn to on this topic as I am the only one in school for now.
Thank you.
In school — but my credit is still being impacted?

Do you know what exactly is making your score drop, like is it thinking you have missed payments? While in deferment my loans got moved to another service and it wrecked my credit score bc it looked like I closed like 6 accounts and then opened 6 more with like $30,000. Has your servicer changed recently?
