I live in San Diego, CA. 36 year old male. Never been in an accident. I have Geico.

I recently rented a car for a road trip with my wife.
I parked in a spot with a pillar next to it and I stupidly reversed out and turned too soon and smashed the side view mirror and dented the door.

I did not opt for the insurance that they provided me as I was sure I wouldn’t be dumb enough to do what I just did. I did use my credit card that has a CDW on hit, but it’s secondary and not primary.

I was wondering how badly I can expect my premium to go up.

    1. If a simple PhysDam only accident is all you’ve got, the increase won’t be much, as it’s pretty limited by Prop 103.

If there’s anything else on your record from the past 36 months, that’s going to hurt.
