Have a friend with a few chest type styro coolers. I have Ridwell that will pick up if I break down to bag. I'm not into that for messiness reasons. Plus hopefully could be used. My question-is this something you'd pickup from a freecycle type site? Or not worth listing? Just trying not to waste time. I would be willing to clean them. Also which sites do you have most luck with?

Considering my options. Large styrofoam coolers

    1. If you’re in the northern hemisphere, list them as “feral/outdoor cat shelters” in addition to the normal cooler verbiage. People convert them into cat shelters for wintertime and are always on the lookout for free old coolers.

    2. As far as messiness…. I’d get a large plastic yard debris bag. Put one in and stomp it flat… the bag will contain “crumbs”. Then insert the next.

Personally I’d think most people would prefer a proper cooler unless they are building cat shelters or perhaps shipping something like baked goods.

    3. If you’re in a hunting/fishing area, talk to outfitters. Here they use these for freezing and shipping out of state. Also, container gardeners and commercial building landscapers fill decorative pots with Styrofoam to avoid needing more soil and to reduce weight.
