Long desk days had me hunching and squinting at my laptop. Instead of buying a fancy stand, I slid a stack of old hardcover books under it until the screen hit eye level. Instant upgrade: better posture, less neck/shoulder strain, fewer headaches and it cost $0. Bonus: use a cheap external keyboard/mouse at elbow height to keep wrists neutral. Low tech fix, high impact.
A $2 hack that actually saved my back at work

My husband built me a monitor stand from some scrap wood we had laying around. Game changer. I can also slide my gaming keyboard and mouse underneath them when I’m working and then swap them at the end of the day.
I looked at one of these standing desks in Ikea. For the electronic ones, they are not cheap, but like you I spend a lot of time hunched over a computer. Instead of splashing big cash to “resolve” my issue I did a similar thing with some old shelves I had laying about and it made a world of difference. I also installed one of these timer apps (I won’t name it, there are so many available) that nudges me to stand up every 20/25 minutes and take a quick break. I’ve got so used to it now, and I just instinctively get up and walk about for a couple of minutes, stretch my legs/back etc. Both these have really improved my posture and well-being.
