I want to start tracking the top 20 or 50 items that I buy from the Grocery store. Does anyone know how to do that?

For example, I want to track the price of Bush's baked beans. I want to know the regular price per can, then what is the lowest historical price on sale?

What do you think is the best way to do that without creating a manual Excel spreadsheet?

I have tried a few apps, like Flipp and Shopsavy, but they don't do what I want.

Ideally, it will be something like Carmelcarmelcarmel for groceries.

    1. I wish there was a way to put it in an excel spreadsheet from the app from each grocery store but you might have to go way old school and keep receipts then go from there

    2. That would take an insane amount of data sharing. It would have to get to the by store by location.

It’s never going to happen. Track it yourself, no easy way out

    3. If you are going to do this, you are going to be doing it manually. I would start with the top 10 items you buy the MOST. If you are able to keep track of 10, then move on to the 20 goal and proceed like that.

As an alternative, track the top 10 items you buy the most that are Necessary expenditures. Example soap is necessary, bananas are not.
