I saw signs all over my local Walmart today about their new OnePay Credit Card. I looked into it, and learned that it earns 3% cash back at Walmart, uncapped (5% cash back if you have a Walmart+ membership) 1.5% on everything else. Issued by Synchrony Bank. SUB is a joke $35 for spending $75 in 30 days. Not a bad card if you shop at Walmart a lot and have Walmart+ membership. Figured I would share incase anyone was interested!
New Walmart OnePay Credit card just started rolling out.

Ill forever be mad at Walmart for murdering my 2nd favorite budgeting app to become their weird fintech arm.
Card does seem good if you do your grocery shopping at Walmart though, the SUB is bizarrely low though. Why even bother?
The new OnePay CashRewards card with the cashback is issued by Synchrony Bank. The existing OnePay Cash Debit card is issued by Coastal Community Bank.
Amex BCE is 3% but capped at 6k annually. This seems like a deal if you shop at Walmart. Not many cards give above 3% for it
People should keep in mind that the SUB is low so it will come down to how much spend one has at Walmart to determine whether it will be worth it. The best answers will involve personal math.
For us, P2 and I spend $8-10k/year at Walmart, have Walmart+, and I have somewhat high recent velocity. For me getting it now only meant pushing my next app back from Feb 2026 to Mar 2026. Meanwhile P2 getting it would mess up her Chase plans. So I went for it. Pre-approval tool was accurate.
A good thing about the card is you get your rewards as soon as purchases post. They clearly show how many points each transaction earned. And you can cash out immediately. There are a lot of moving parts with increased rewards if you are a Walmart + member and/or if you have direct deposits to your OnePay cash account your savings becomes a HYSA (3.75%). You get a bonus for using your OnePay wallet for the first time, a 10% bonus on your first debit card purchase (up to $200 spend). And the $35 credit card bonus. Plus the debit card has rewards for using gas stations near you plus some other store discounts in-store and online.
As someone that’s kitchen is 90% Great Value, this is gonna be a killer card.
The problem is youd have to use synchrony
I’ve had this card for a couple of weeks. I got it, then did the $300 OnePay direct deposit offer. Here’s my take:
1. Points are redeemable right away once the transaction clears.
2. They can be deposited into the free OnePay checking or savings account, then transferred out. Or used for a credit statement.
3. You can pay the balance with a linked external account.
4. No minimum cash back amount required for a withdrawal.
So you don’t really ever need to log into Synchrony, who I absolutely cannot stand. You can pay it all on the OnePay side.
Other notes: This BEATS the old Capital One card in one major way – the Cap One card only did 5% in the store for the first year. This new card is 5% unlimited at [walmart.com](http://walmart.com) & in store. So grocery deliveries, pickup, in store shopping.
Downside: 3% if not W+. But you can get this if you do some searching for $49 per year – at least I was able to the last 3.
Good luck!
