Anyone try to use M365 sharepoint for a “website”

I am certain that I will need a website for my company and especially one with lots of page options and a repository for online resources. I have started building one through pork bun/Wordpress and it's slow going. However, in my previous work life, I built multiple SharePoint sites that could easily be passed off as websites. They had all the pages, storage and tools we needed. In fact I built a model for our other sites to use. After launching my own company, purchasing a M365 business package was one of my first must haves. And now I just really want to use the sharepoint site instead of Porkbun and WordPress. They are so challenging.
But Microsoft says that's not the people use for sharepoint.
Anyone feel my pain or using sharepoint to bring people in?
