I avoided alt coins and stood on the sidelines watching big gains and the eventual losses. I kinda knew about Bitcoin when it first went above $50K then $100k. I’m glad I wasn’t into it before because I would not have made it through.
But I look at it differently now. The ETFs, the countries that are getting behind it, the companies like Strategy and other BTC treasuries… it’s not something you put money in hoping to make 20 or 50 or 100% returns. It’s different.
What got to me (orange pilled me) was the 21M coins. And how there’s 8B people on earth, I think 53M “millionaires” and the fact if every millionaire wanted one stupid little single coin they would not be able to get one whole coin. Then I’m guessing 2-4M coins are already lost forever. Then you add in how many are held right now by companies whether it’s ETFs or treasuries. This made me realize I need to get one whole coin and I’m fortunate enough that I’m able to do it. It’s a ~$115k investment that can go to $80k or even $25k maybe… but I see so much more upside to go up well beyond $500K over next several years. And a whole coin is out of reach for most today, and thankfully just within reach for me today.
I know a whole coin means nothing in reality… meaning 1.00000000 vs 0.99999999 or 1.00000001 coins. But then again, psychologically it means a lot I think. What I love most is that having 1.00000000 BTC helps me see it as just that… one whole coin. Not $xxx, xxx invested that changes every minute due to volatility. All I ever wanna see is the 1.00000000 and that will help me stay focused on keeping this single whole coin. And if there is a new “dip” to buy, I will buy 0.5 or something… but I will be buying pieces of BTC and not investing dollars. This is semantics I know but it helps me focus on the goal of holding and keeping the BTC for the very very long term future.
I’m learning a lot and enjoying it. I have my cold wallet. I have my seed phrase metal backup strategy. I have a well thought out plan for how to get this investment to my beneficiaries should my time come. I’ve got my op-sec thought through. This account is even a new account that’s just for BTC discussions.
I appreciate this and other communities as it’s helped me a lot in recent weeks.
New to BTC and going all in for a whole coin and here’s why.
