I'm planning to make an investment related educational game for reddit's new game platform and would like some advice on the game idea.
The goal is to trade on "reddit sentiment" based on earnings call analysis. For the Q&A section answers you can vote a bearish/bullish rating. The closer you are to the "wisdom of the crowd" (current average sentiment) you can get more points. At the end we have leaderboard.
It's a bit like a prediction market but about sentiment, and playing is a fun way to do research on the company's strategy and the type of questions pro analysts are asking. I digest the Q&As into headlines so it's easier to get through quickly, and also do some external fact-checking to add more research data.
My questions are:
- Do people pay attention to earnings calls?
- Would you like to see other redditor's sentiment?
- Should we also rate the analysts?
- Does the game sound fun?
- Are there other signals/data points that would be interesting to include? eg volatility, short interest, block trades, sector / peers data. What is most relevant around an earnings call?
Thanks for any comments!
