What happens is that the military industrial complex (MIC) pays the campaigns of politicians, and once elected they need to return the favor to their MIC sponsors via profits paid by taxpayers money. MIC will use profits to sponsor politician campaigns. And the cycle goes on and on.
Politicians only want your tax money and your vote. If those with the best campaign win, the cycle will self reinforce over and over.
