So now he claims the world is being held hostage because China doesn’t want to share it’s resources with everyone else.

Time to hurry up and make a deal with Canada. Stop the silly trade war with a trusted trading partner. Canada has all the natural resources the USA needs (rare earth, oil, gas, base metals, lumber, uranium, potash etc).
North America can be totally self-sufficient without relying on China.
