How much % ROI do experienced day trader generate in a month on their invested capital?
How much % ROI do they realistically make in a single day's trade following all proper rules and risk management?
I know not all days are profitable, and losses are part of the game, but still, on a good day, how much do they make, and how often does it happen?
How much % does an experienced day trader generate on their capital in a month? (And also a single day for that matter)

A skilled can make a few $100 in a good day. They only does one or two option trades a day spending may be 1 hours to get most bang for the buck.
I made 57k in the past month trading shares
imo don’t compare yourself to others. Just keep improving yours
I know a guy who made 4000% in a day. He’s always broke
For the first time ever I gave CFDs a try on 212, just invested up to that point. Made £1547 In a matter of hours, manages to get every high and low on Rigetti without failure.
It actually put me off as it shouldn’t have been as easy as it was.
Studies have been done. Around 90% of traders lose money. Its not much better odds than going to a casino.
Some do earn a killing tho.
You can easily expected tree fiddy per day, one gorillion per month and a stonk on the moon every few years.
If you have insider information, millions
Day traders don’t really exist. There are people who get lucky once in awhile. If there are people making double returns than the market average sitting at home consistently over 5 years, they should be working for a hedge fund making $1 mil a year to manage some very large portfolios.
The people who day trade likely would have been better off getting a W2 and investing in S&P.
How much money does an experienced gambler make at the roulette table? Same here buddy.
You have no edge. The house wins on average.
Most experienced daytraders have learned that it’s a waste of time and money, and have moved into longer timeframes or become investors.
Somewhere in the negatives.
It is very unlikely to become a consistent day trader. If you’re good enough to beat the market consistently, you will quickly outgrow the “day trader” thing as you will multiply your holdings.
Since crypto is like stocks on steroids, I would advise researching there. Most reputable crypto guys changed their trading/investment strategies after making some bank. Then they keep a smaller trading portfolio, and a larger investment portfolio. Would you call such a person q day trader? I wouldn’t.
50%, you either win or lose, simple
a gazillion you’re gonna get rich bro just follow the rules and manage your risk 🤦🏻♂️
I had a day in July I earned $14,000 before the market opened, and totaled $35,000 before noon.
I made about $135,000 in June and July, and lost $30,000 in August. And that loss was because I sold. I had some RDDT and APPL and didn’t want to risk losing more, so I jumped ship.
No trading in Sept. Oct started out with $1700 the first day.
Last Friday when share prices dropped, I bought into a lot of RDDT, NVDA, AMD, CRSP, GSAT. We’ll see how things play out this week.
-0.5%
Don’t day trade.
I’ve averaged $20,000 per month (unrealized gains) over the past three years by focusing on technology. I know this is rare and won’t last forever. I have an engineering background, so that gives me an edge…still, I ask myself everyday, am I investing or speculating?
If things get too volatile, I move money to BRK-B. It’s averaged 20% annually over the last decade. At that rate, your money should double every 4 years.
50 cent
The best traders like Testa from japan who made 10 millions $ only trading, he has 40% cagr for 10 years.
So thats 2.84% per month.
Sure they say they made x20 x100 with one trade, but they never trade all in.
I worked with a guy who day traded commodity futures and retired as a multi-millionaire after two years with maybe $50k initial capital. He had a system and this was in the 90s before HFT had really taken over, but even then none of us could reproduce his results, he really thought he just got lucky at the end of the day.
