He’s not wrong. Those markets are never coming back. So what, we subsidize them forever?

    2. mudamuckinjedi on

Can’t say all but I would go as far as saying the majority of y’all voted for him, even though some were predicting this very thing happening. But they sipped that kool-aid anyway, (because a democrat especially a woman democrat don’t know shit) lets all listen to the known con-man and convicted felon oh and lets not forget pedophile!

Yee Haw! Farmers know what they’re doing. Leave them alone. They’ll be fine.

    4. He’s right of course. Bailouts are not sound economic policy. It’s a fix for a self inflicted problem.

    5. Maybe you shouldn’t have voted for someone who would never think twice about selling out Americans to foreign adversaries for his own benefit.

    6. I agree almost entirely with him. Trump did this in 2016 and told everyone he was gonna impose tariffs on everyone.

So, why did farmers overwhelmingly vote for Trump?

    7. The capital markets are societal leeches sucking everyone dry in exchange for zero labor.

Both parties protect the capital markets and their meaningful stakeholders from us under threat of government violence and through divisive propaganda making us fight one another instead of the capitalists.

The capital markets either need to be brought to heel to serve society instead of society serving them as it does now, be destroyed, or they will destroy us.

Currency should be tied to labor, not speculative gambling at a casino where the high limit players have marked insider info cards and loaded monopoly pressure dice.

Trump is just yet another symptom of our greed disease. These ignorant food producers have been propagandized against their own interests, but they still produce food, which makes every single one of them more valuable to a society than a million do nothing Jeff Bezos’s and Elon Musks that use capital to have others labor for their exclusive benefit. Those people have no value to society, and are societal blights, as are the rest of their centimillionaire, billionaire leech ilk.

Smart farmer. Hope he votes differently next time. Generally Americans are selfish and will vote based on their own best interests.

Grow Hemp! We can’t. Why? it’s illegal. Why? Big Cotton. That’s one reason. But you can make just about anything with hemp. Really? Yes. Even Fuel for tractors. No way. Yes, way. Hemp Bio Fuel works in diesel engines. Oh, that’s why.

I’m truly curious why so many farmers and others in agriculture voted for Trump? He was talking about tariffs constantly during his campaign so why did he get so many of these votes? Can someone please help me understand this?

    11. Didn’t they destroy it?

Voted to intentionally wreck the economy? Voted to increase all of our taxes on purchases via tariffs? And now they want to take a good chunk of that new tax money to make themselves whole?

But are complaining it isn’t enough?

Are now realizing they likely voted for long term changes?

And for what? To show how stubborn they can be?

    12. Mission_Search8991 on

Fuck him, he probably voted for this.

When people with jobs get laid off and collect unemployment (and in some cases, food stamps), you only get a fraction of what you made at a job (with no benefits). Yet these right-wing cocksuckers scream about socialism when this happens (since, yeah, getting 20% of my former paycheck allows me live the high-life!), but complain that the socialistic bailout they are getting from my blue-state tax money does not make them whole.

There are consequences to choosing Trump, Bubba, stop whining.

    13. You mean trump who has bankrupted many companies of his own is destroying markets now? No way I dont believe it

    14. Zealousideal_Curve10 on

I’m really glad to hear that the bailout, if it comes, will not make you whole. I hope, rather, that it does not happen at all, and that your losses will be commensurate with the damage you have done to our constitutional democracy

Pull yourself up by them bootstraps boy

God no one wants to work anymore

      (Insert additional conservative platitudes here)

    16. I understand what he’s doing but Im not sure the why hes doing it unless it enriches him somehow.

    17. This is meant to accelerate the demise of ‘family’ farms so global corporations can buy US farmland for pennies on the dollar.

    18. Material_Practice_83 on

It’s time to realize that US agriculture industry is for the poors but also necessary in our economy. There is no global market for them but we do need them here. Our government pretty much has them on permanent welfare and farmers are in denial.

    19. Silent-Web-5242 on

Trump’s tarrifs  manufactured an economic disaster for farmers, forcing the creation of a massive, unnecessary farm subsidy. This subsidy is funded by the tariff revenue which is a tax that consumers ultimately pay. Trumps policy is a cycle of harm consumers pay the tarrif to fund a subsidy that that only exists because of the tariff. We’re screwed and so are farmers.

    20. Just curious…

Considering, this was predicted, they were warned, and to a degree it has been seen/lived in the past,

who are these people talking to?

    21. You literally ASKED for it though. Who didn’t ask for it was the mother and child here for 20 years getting smacked from her car

    22. Yes, and he may even have ***set out*** to do so – or so it seems. One wonders at all those farmers voting for someone like Don the Con as he never was for them.

    23. These idiots voted for a convicted criminal and pedophile. They get what they vote for.

    24. StringerBell34 on

I’m sure most of these farmers vote Republican partly because they don’t want their tax dollars going to “welfare queens”

Fuck them. They voted for a clown and now they’re in the circus.

    25. Previous_Cod_1356 on

I thought futures were supposed to allow farmers to hedge against crop failures.

Can’t they also be used to hedge against other market situations?

It still doesn’t answer the question of what the farmers do with their crop…

    26. Old_Measurement_6575 on

Didn’t we go through this bullshit during the racist pathological lying convicted felon and sexual abusing pedophile first term with the farmers? I mean how completely stupid must you be to vote for him again?
