Income requirement for loans?

Hi all. I recently got accepted to a grad school program abroad that is eligible for us gov loans. I’m about to apply for the loans but I’m wondering if there are any income requirements I should know about. I have excellent credit but I’ve spent the last few years either in uni in the states not making much money, or backpacking and also not making much money. I didn’t even make enough in the states last year to have to file taxes. Will this complicate my loan application at all? TIA
