I’ve been sitting on a startup idea for a long time and have started creating a presentation. There are business incubators nearby, but I’m an over-analyzer and fear my idea being stolen. I lack funds and an MVP. What steps should I take to move forward?

    1. My advice is to give up, you’ve been posting about the startup idea for years and haven’t been able to make progress on it. Ideas are cheap, execution is hard.

    2. Build it anyway.

It took me way too long to figure this out, but no one really cares about your ideas because they are too busy with their own (or executing someone else’s ideas).

    3. Your idea is not unique enough to steal. No idea is.

A business is built on momentum, not ideas. No one running their business right now is concerned about your idea, they are moving one foot in front of the next to keep the business momentum alive.

So steps for you to move forward is to execute. No funds? Why do you needs funds?

No MVP? Good, better to make a waitlist, see if it’s successful and then convince someone to give you money to build the MVP based on feedback from people on the waitlist
