This is what I am debating at the moment. I want more than anything to leave this town but I will be so much more financially stable if I stay in my town, and I will be rent-free

Still need more information to make a good decision. Living at home rent-free sounds nice but if your parents are overbearing and annoying people, then you won’t be able to focus on academics and you’ll bomb all your classes. Also depends on what your major will be — you can’t expect to land a lucrative job at Apple or Google if you pursue a computer science degree at a tiny liberal arts college that nobody’s heard of.
If its an ivy league degree, probably worth moving. Otherwise probably just get whatever is best in the area that gives in state cost reductions and is close to affordable housing (dorms can be more expensive than rent these days w/ amenities included for private colleges)
