Possibly because many professional traders have a life and take the weekend off?

    2. A few reasons :

      1) Professional / Institutional investors are not in office and thus trade less. Retail investors dominant trading more on weekends

      2) Many fiat onramps do not process on the weekends so you cannot deposit and withdraw fiat than anyways

      3) Due to the above many people know there is less liquidity on weekends thus this has a feedback loop of many traders not wanting to open a position when there is less liquidity
