I will be tearing-off and re-roofing my house, which I have experience with. I will be needing a couple of helpers for this process, one of whom is very experienced also.
What insurance can I get for them, for this project? It should take less than a week.
I am sorry, I do not know about insurance/ workman's comp but I certainly want to protect myself should they get injured.
    Thanks!

Workers’ compensation for when they fall off the roof or put a nail into their foot.

You would need worker’s compensation insurance but the rate for roofers is one of the most expensive out there. Most carriers aren’t going to be willing to write a policy for just one project and an untrained crew.

Ask your homeowner insurer if you can buy a liability rider for the job. I don’t think they will, but you never know till you ask.

    4. Workers comp insurance. It’s going to be expensive and there will be an audit.
Don’t forgo this insurance. I had a customer roof his own home, had a neighbor help. Neighbor fell and died. Nightmare.

Maybe if you hire the helpers through a temp agency they could come with insurance and a mark up.
