I’m the ceo of a small company and we’re about to hit our 10 year anniversary which honestly feels insane. We’ve kept almost all memebers of our original team since the start so we’re planning to go all out for the end of year dinner, something fancy to celebrate everyone properly. Thing is I’ve been hearing stories lately about events getting messy once the drinks start flowing and people ending up with unexpected surprises and I don’t want ours to be that story. We’re looking at getting the event insured but we wanna hear your personal stories and who is actually worth it. We don’t want this night of celebration to turn into a night of chaos.

Hosting a corporate celebration soon any lessons learned from your own events?

    1. Congrats. This all depends on your culture. Once I took a team to the Florida Keys and they ended up trashing their rental. But I literally had bikers and a culture of partying. But another time everybody ended up throwing a BBQ for the people they appreciated and our customers when they could’ve had any party they wanted.

If you’ve been around 10 years the history should tell you what would work best. Don’t have an open bar if you’re worried. Make it upscale or have a program. But just make sure it matches the culture or else it won’t feel authentic.
