I am struggling to get in touch with potential customers. I find people on LinkedIn and send them an initial message asking for 15-20 min of their time for a few questions, but most people do not answer me.

I am in early stage and refining my Problem Statement, and I am trying to follow the principles of the Mom Test.

Has anyone been through this? And what approaches did you try differently?

Any tips for reaching potential customers?

    1. It can be tough to get responses on LinkedIn. I’ve found that engaging in relevant groups or forums can help you connect with potential customers more effectively. You might also try tools like Hootsuite to manage your outreach. If you’re looking to automate some of that process, a tool like Threadpal.io could be a good fit for reaching out on Reddit too. Have you tried any other platforms?

    2. Have you tried joining some relevant online communities or forums where your potential customers hang out? People tend to be way more responsive in those spaces since they’re already engaged in conversation.

Yeah, it’s rough when you’re still validating ideas. Have you tried joining communities where your potential users already hang out? I got way better responses commenting and helping first before asking for a call.

You’re asking for value before giving it, which is a tough sell. Flip the script. Don’t ask for time. Find a visible inefficiency in their public process (like slow comment replies or a clunky web form) and mention it. Then, briefly state how you’d solve it with automation. This proves your expertise upfront and makes them want to listen.

I’m not surprised peope, don’t answer. Why should they waste their tiem answering questions?

    6. Just started my SaaS last week, and man, “knocking on doors” is tough. This is my second project, and I’ve got a few visitors so far.

Here’s the system I follow (Alex Hormozi style):

One foot in the door: Personalize your DM with their name, why you’re reaching out, and maybe a tip or something that helped you.

If they reply, provide value, inform them what did work for you, what tools you employed, etc.

If they say thanks or “I tried it,” you’ve got them hooked. Now it’s easy to guide them to your SaaS.

Works for me thus far, hope it is helpful!

    7. I do this on Reddit instead of LinkedIn. But I use a tool that identifies conversations where I can add value (it identified this one 😊), and then join the conversation. The conversation further qualifies leads, and if they are a good lead, then the conversation usually ends with them asking for my product. Otherwise, the conversation naturally ends. It’s pretty simple really, not always easy to scale though.
