Dogecoin is a Peer-to-Peer digital currency designed – like most cryptocurrencies – to block out the middle man and the gatekeepers.

So it's so Interesting to see that so many of the people who are "building" things in our community are specifically building solutions that allow them to step in and act as middlemen and gatekeepers.

To me, the formula has always been simple:

Buy and sell goods and services that people want and need for Dogecoin.

    That's it. Not hard.

Instead, what we get, in my personal opinion, is predatory, rent-seeking behavior from grifters all too happy to scoop up and profit off of work done by our community – for free and good faith, work that we did to build Dogecoin into what it is – while calling it "utility" and "progress."

They tell the press that we're "not just a joke anymore"

Well, cool, because I know that I'm not laughing.

House of Doge, while happily promoting themselves as the "official" for-profit arm of The Dogecoin Foundation, says that they are, according to their website:

"Empowering companies to use only Doge every day, making it the currency of the Earth, Moon, Mars and Stars"

Meanwhile, to the press they mention their "broader vision" which includes, apparently, pushing for a Doge-backed stablecoin that's "more appropriate for everyday purchases"

Gee, I wonder who's going to run and profit from that stablecoin?

Oh and they intend to "extract value" from the brand that our community has created. (Reminder, they're a private, for-profit company).

Or, worse, those who are building platforms that, to me, seems intent on empowering grifters and bringing them to Dogecoin while directly profiting from the proceeds of a crime (fraud).

For those out of the loop, one of the first killer apps for the DogeOS platform that's being built is anoncoin – ported over from Solana to Dogecoin – essentially is promoting easier, anonymous rug pulls as if that's a good thing.

    They're also pushing for a "Doge-backed" stablecoin.

So, yes, permissionless means permissionless, they're free to do so.

But you're also free to tell them if you think that this is what Dogecoin should be about.

You're also, if you enjoy rabbit holes, free to dig into any and all financial shenanigans surrounding House of Doge.

    Just sayin'.

Reminder: Dogecoin is Money, an internationally recognized brand, the #2 PoW coin behind Bitcoin and has been a top 10 crypto for almost a decade.

    1. There is no community, never has been. Doge is majority owned by whales who didn’t fall for and probably are the ones perpetuating the HODL and diamond hands narrative. The whole community aspect of the coin is a fabrication intended to drive engagement and to keep small time investors from selling and trick stupid new investors into buying during runs. Posting AI spam is not community. Freaking out every time the coin moves 5% is not community.
