Hello everyone!
I'm Daquora, 16m , learning IT in Hungary.
I always dreamed of solving problems of people, I always wanted to code, and I always wanted to mix both of them together. I came up with this little idea while laying in bed, thinking about start-up ideas, looking for future jobs, etc.
Eventually, I gave up on it, because I don't have the experience, I don't have anything to show my talent, etc., so I sat down in front of my computer and tought about ehat problems are there in the IT world that even kids like me could solve. That's when it popped up. I want to make a file-organizer, and duplicate finder, as my mother always ask me for help in regards of sorting her stuff on her desktop, downloads, etc.
I want to create a simple Windows desktop app that helps people organize their files easily. It will find duplicates very accurately by looking inside PDFs and comparing images visually, not just by file name or size.
The main features:
-Organize files into folders automatically
-Detect and preview duplicates (PDFs, images, etc.)
-Built-in viewer for images and PDF text
-Mass rename files with live preview
-Simple, clear interface with progress messages, and easily navigateable UI.
I'm starting this project tomorrow, and it'll take me a good month to finish, as I have to learn lots of new things. I don't plan on using any AI, so I actually advance, I'm not going to steal codes, etc.
I feel like this problem is niche, a bit time-consuming, and you need motivation to get to it. However, due to the sheer easiness of the solution, there isn't really any competition on the market, and the only ones that cover this problem are locked behind a license, or a subscription.
I plan to release this project for FREE.
Would anyone be actually interested in using a program like this, for time saving? I post this idea as basically a survey, if I should focus on putting in my 100%, or my 110% for all of you.
Thank you so much for reading it, I'm open to any critiques and I gladly anwser any questions you guys have regarding the project!
Edit: If people are interested, I'm going to give updates on this post and on GitHub so kids like me who would be interested in doing something like this could see how a process like this goes down
I'm looking to see if people would be interested in my idea.
