      She’s not wrong but she may want to do a little self reflection on why they have no hope. Married to Jack Welch, the person most responsible for starting the whole “layoffs for the shareholders” trend and a manager at Bain who has ruined several franchises with the whole vulture capital thing she may be more than a little culpable for them losing hope and is certainly a beneficiary of many of the things that caused them to lose hope…..

    2. I think it goes way beyond hope. I’m not gonna say older generations didn’t work hard but there’s a sheer volume at play nowadays that just didn’t exist 30-50 years ago. When I went to in and out last week my order number was 80 numbers away from what they were calling when I placed it and mine came up about 25 minutes later. Rough extrapolation that’s about 1300 orders taken and made in an 8 hour shift. Obviously that’s an extreme but there’s still workers experiencing that possibly 5 days a week.
