I purchased dogecoin in 2010 but transferred all of the files onto a USB before my dad chucked out the computer.

If anyone can help me successfully retrieve them I’ll offer a generous tip

Is there anyway I can retrieve my dogecoin if I transferred all of the files from PC onto a USB? Need help retrieving lost coins

    1. Depends on what you have, exactly.

As I’ve been saying for over a decade now, wallets are nothing but numbers. Like these three…

      ^1,”DEPfPztvMjB3epQpRdsMuVTharG8G8BbyX”,”6KordjRxoh7NsoY91At9KXLHpT7j8aC3cRBqp2wVweJqGpjTTHh”
      ^2,”D9PWSRtoGdkVL9YzaUGCj1gRLKWHGER5Qe”,”6KhFS4wmN5XRuDjRRVGEDBFA6zpcC9tN7n6zGQM3KZ83odiCe3m”
      ^3,”DDqaG1P9LTbTiY77iJnQQT9EFXHVR574G5″,”6Kh186xLzU3EGUiLxvkugis335xrWxWhyLPeqG1mxqgfTzRbWUk”

Now, if you have them as plain text like that, you’re all good. They’re perfectly fine as they are, and all you need is to download a copy of the coinb.in website in order to send coins wherever you want.

If, however, you have files from some software client or other, then it gets more complicated. And possibly impossible, depending what it is.

So the first question must be, what did you use to create those files?

    2. look for a “wallet.dat” file and use that to restore your wallet

otherwise if you have your seed phrase use that.

dont answer DMs, dont post your seed, yada yada yada

You’ll need to look for your wallet.dat. That’s where all your coins are stored. You’ll need the updated dogecoin client in order to open your wallet and then your can transfer out the coins or do whatever you wish from then. The client update is gonna be pretty slow though. I did the same with mine.
