As the title suggests, my property taxes on my condo have increased by over 450% YOY. I haven’t made any additions, improvements etc. I have always paid a bit over 6k per installment and first installment 24’ taxes were no different.
Then, when Cook County FINALLY released their 24’ second installment it jumped to over $43K. How is it possible for an assessment to go up that much within a tax year?

What does the tax summary link say? Sometimes you can also call the assessors office and try to file an appeal or ask questions, but you should work to figure this out quickly and call someone at the tax assessors office, many times you only have a limited time to appeal. It may be that they’ve reassessed the building or your unit somehow, or may be a clerical error.

Which state is Cook County in? The tax summary should show how the $43k is calculated.

I hope you know how to open a pdf, lol.
