If you're looking to take a couple nights stay (hotels, motels, or otherwise) somewhere, where do you find the real deals?
I've looked at Groupon and the sites like Expedia, but are there any other outstanding coupons I'm not considering?
If it helps at all, I'm looking outwards of about a month. Should I look out further in advance?
I appreciate any and all advice!

How do find the best deals on hotel stays?

    1. Oh, I just went through this and slept on making reservations in a small town where I had a meeting I had to attend in person. Totally put it off and the price jumped $50.00 because of procrastination. I would say 6 weeks or longer. Maybe 4 weeks, but anything inside of 4 weeks jumps dramatically.

I would add that you might want to find a hotel “family” so you can get a credit card or points or a reserved parking space, free water, etc.

    2. You may be able to find better deals via third parties but I always book direct. Like the other comment says, hotels offer rewards for loyalty. I have stayed at the Ritz for “free” using only points. Also, if something goes wrong, Expedia isn’t going to help you.
