How do we know he wasn’t there to open some options trades since things were still manual back then?

    2. Bro just didn’t like crowds and freaked out. He would’ve had plenty of fun at the after-hours coke parties. Hollywood Wall Street same dif.

Christian Bale had similar comments after going there to prepare for his role in American Psycho.

He was born into a really wealthy family, which enabled him the privilege to pursue a career in make-believe.

      His opinion means nothing.

    5. Worst job. It’s very stressful, late hours, looking the market after work, people have to call every minute.

    6. I recommend reading _Liar’s Poker_ to really get a sense for this scene back in the 80’s.
It sounds … very much how RDJ describes it here lol. But the book is really interesting, and it might be my favorite of Michael Lewis’ book because a fair amount of it is autobiographical and comes from his own experience and expertise.

Is this before or after he was forced to go to rehab because he became addicted to boofing whatever illegal substances he was able to get his hands on?

I never understood how they understand anything in this chaos. Yea it was with hand signaling, and calling etc. But its so unreal. You maybe have two italians talking to each other, and before they know they are 50k in deep

    9. Back before the market was controlled by algorithms and machine learning entities, it was manipulated by these people. Calling around telling everyone what a good investment x or y or z is, realizing full well that it didn’t fucking matter. People were buying because they could, not because they had any idea of intrinsic value or future prospects. Then that bred a generation of dumb asses who made it even less clear what something should actually be worth.
