I'm trying to be way more intentional this time around. I want to cut out the random buys and focus on actual, legitimate savings.

If you had to recommend a simple, foolproof setup to a friend who constantly overpays (me, basically), what would it be? I'm looking for specific browser extensions, price history sites, or just some golden rules you swear by. I need a solid system to help me filter out the fake "deals" from the real ones.

What's your "no-BS" Black Friday money saving setup this year?

    1. My foolproof setup is I’m not going to buy things I wasn’t going to buy anyway regardless of discount.

    2. Buy things you need. Don’t buy just because there is a discount. Look up historical prices for comparable products before buying. Don’t assume it’s a good deal because there is a discount or because it is advertised as a Black Friday deal.

I wont be buying anything. I’ll be sitting at home and eating leftovers while I laugh at the people who are out shopping and feel bad for the retail workers who have to deal with them.

Is this an Ad or an attempt at doing market research?…. Based off post history you promote an AI tool you created that collects data from websites….

My “no-BS” Black Friday money saving setup is the same as it is every year. I don’t participate. You would be shocked at how much money I save!

    6. None of what you mentioned actually keeps you from spending money. Conversely, they help you spend money.

Before BF, I try to have a list of the things I’m looking for. And then, set a max price I’m willing to pay for it. If it doesn’t hit that price, I don’t buy it. If it’s something that wasn’t on my list, I don’t buy it.

Remember, not all BF deals are actually deals.

Don’t go into BF looking for multiple good deals, just because they’re good deals. Go into BF with a list of things you need.

Install adblock and mute the TV when ads come on. Install adblockers on your phone and avoid instagram and other social media if you are unable to block them.

Seriously. If you don’t know what you’re ‘missing out’ on, you won’t be tempted to waste money. Avoiding ads has made a huge difference in my spending.

    8. Same as every year. We don’t participate. The presents we give tend to be one of a kind hand made items, tailored to the receiver.

I can’t remember the last time i bought anything online unless i had no choice, and those items were carefully researched for *value and use*.

    9. Not going shopping just because it’s Black Friday. I only spend money when I need something and buy what I need at the best price.
