My dad still has the iPhone XR. I won’t upgrade him because they tie you in with unlimited plan which he doesn’t need since he sits on wifi all day. Best will do is buy it full cash whenever the phone dies. A previous model too at that.

It’s been time to regulate this shit for a decade. Not to make corporations more money, but for everyone’s health. Especially the next generation. Kids seem a little fucked.

Apple hasn’t done anything interesting since Job’s died. Cant even produce a fold and Samsung has been doing it for years now.

Planned obsolescence and making things unrepairable is a disgusting part of capitalism.
As a music producer/creative, if I want to upgrade one old thing, that means I have to upgrade everything.

Corporations and large businesses drove our society towards everything being short-lived and disposable all to turnover a buck faster. Everything from electronics, cars, clothes, tools, etc.
The old adage is crazy true now: they don’t make ‘em like they used to. But we’re often forced to make shitty products last.

In Europe it’s the same. Maybe they can go for 2000 euro or dollar smartphones and tablets next?

I went to upgrade my phone the other day after 2 years. It has a small crack on the back glass. ATT said i had to file an insurance claim and get a new phone before I could upgrade. The deductible is $250. I decided I dont really need a new phone.

Why are they not taking on more debt to buy stuff????
