I'm hoping to get a chest freezer soon, not sure on the size yet. I know that this time of year I can get ham and turkey for really cheap, saint Patrick's day is a good time to stock up on cheap corned beef. Am I missing any holidays that offer cheap meat? Or any other time of year? I'm hoping I can get one in time to buy turkeys for cheap, i plan on carving them up like you would a chicken and using it instead of chicken for the year.
What types of meat can I buy for cheap to fill a chest freezer?

Grocery stores run regular sales on ribeye roasts. This year I’ve seen them for $6-7/lb. I bought 4 roasts sliced into steaks.
Check the ads from grocery stores near you and when you see something go on sale like pork chops or ground beef, you buy a lot of it then and stockpile the freezer so you’re not paying full price later on.
Holidays often have turkeys (amazon fresh 50 cents a pound), ham, prime rib, rack of lamb etc on sale. You can also find randomly good deals on meat close to sell by or just during the week at groceries.
Stock up on Turkey and hams during the holidays. Family packs of chicken are cheap. Boneless whole pork loins are cheap by the pound and freeze well.
