Guys. I'm in the process of filing for bankruptcy and, as we all know, student loans are not going to get covered in that. Today, November 30, may Sallie Mae loans (2) will default at 5pm EST. I'm really scared of what happens next. I've NEVER made an out of school payment after graduating in May 2024. I've been employed for like 10 months total since then. My dad died, I moved to a AZ to be closer to my mom, I had to get a car, I still don't have an apartment. I am SO scared about what is going to happen. I just can't pay. I've had to pay for apartments, for life (and not even living it up just like basics), my other debts until earlier this month.
I'm so disappointed bc I thought grad school would help me. I went to school abroad. I couldn't get a job, I was borrowing money for an apartment and food. Literally cans of tuna and noodles but food none the less…. I'm so upset with myself. It feels like my future is bleak and my life is over in a way. It's just completely shattered any ideas I had for myself.
TLDR: What happens next. How screwed am I?
My Now 100k Sallie Mae loan defaults today and I'm very scared

Student loans can be discharged in bankruptcy.
But why didn’t you take out federal student loans for grad school???
