Last year and the year before I was lucky and scored a whole bunch of marked down Thanksgiving stuff after the holiday. Discounted pies and frozen turkey, sides, rolls, etc. It was a great time to stock up my freezer because I am on a budget and look for chances to stock up when possible.

This year I went to 4 different stores and all the turkeys were still full price. Pies, sides, bread, etc were also all still full cost.

Granted, I was able to get some good deals before Thanksgiving but I was just sniffing to get a cheap turkey for the freezer.

If anyone watches the dumpster dive videos, a lot of stores are just throwing stuff away instead of marking it down.

No after Thanksgiving food sales near me. Turkeys are full cost

    1. I got a ton of beef and chicken marked down because they were approaching the Best Buy date. Probably because everyone the past few days have been buying and eating turkey/ham. It was like $120 worth of meat for $50 which was neat.

    2. I got a pumpkin pie at Whole Foods the next day for 40% off.

My turkey was very inexpensive. I bought a frozen one on the Sunday before Thanksgiving and it was marked down from $30 to $7. I am not sure whether they still had any left after Thanksgiving passed.

    3. I expect prices will drop more after Christmas. My family still does a big family meal on Christmas and will still be buying a bunch of holiday food for that.

There wasn’t any before either usually you can get a turkey on sale if you buy $30 worth of groceries, but not this year.

    5. Ive been noticing that for all the holidays this year. The Easter candy, Christmas candy, and even the Halloween candy was not marked down after the holidays.

I’ve really never seen frozen turkey marked down, only fresh if they have them left. They can sell the frozen ones through New Years.

    7. My costco had marked down turkeys, it brought the price down on butterballs to around 65 cents a pound. They had organic ones marked down as well.

But my regular stores (walmart and winco) had more non turkey meats marked down. We got marked down ground fresh pork and marked down chicken drumsticks, both under 1.00 a pound.

And both stores had small piles of non food thanksgiving theme stuff discounted like paper napkins. But no stores around here had very high stock levels of decor.

My albertsons affiliate had $10 turkeys after thanksgiving (bigger turkey would be a lesser dollars-per-lb)

    9. I found one single fresh turkey today that was 75% off. The frozen ones weren’t discounted at all, and the fresh were sold out.

    10. I had gone to Whole Foods the day before Thanksgiving when the prices were obscene — a small tray of stuffing for like $15, a container of gravy for close to $10, etc. I went to Trader Joe’s and bought a box of stuffing mix, some chicken broth, and turkey gravy and made it myself for less than $10.

Then I went to Whole Foods again the next day and everything was marked down 40%. It’s just me so next year I may just delay Thanksgiving dinner by a day and buy all this pre-made stuff when it’s reasonably priced.
