Some people swear by them, while others say they mostly end up in a drawer.

    1. I think it depends. When I’m at a general networking event, business cards are kinda useless. But for art fairs and events with vendors, I find business cards really helpful to refer back to

It’s very rare that someone still asks for a card. If you make a single pack it will likely last you for years.

I think it’s one of those low risk high reward things. It’s so cheap to get hundreds of them printed and there’s no downside to handing them out. Can even put QR codes and such on them these days. If nothing else it’s maybe helpful for people to find us online for those of us who have tricky names to spell.

I’ve thought of maybe getting custom metal coins made with a QR code on one side. Thought being people will subconsciously feel they’re valuable, at least compared to a paper card, and at least throw it in their junk drawer or something instead of the trash. Would be more expensive than cards for sure but when I checked it really wasn’t that expensive to get a batch of 100-200 made.

    4. I absolutely still use them. Hell I am old school … I still use pens for marketing/advertising 🙂

      I Vote FOR.
      1. it gives a Good impression
      2. Easy to give your contact
      3. makes you look Pro
      4. easier for your Contact to refer you by giving a friend your Card
      5. Someone might JUST run into your card one day and realize they need you

    6. I think it’s worth having and I still grab them although if they have social media I will follow then get rid of the business card.

    7. They still work, just not the old way. I mostly use them as a quick reminder after a real conversation. If there’s no actual connection, the card doesn’t matter.

I used to use them frequently but now I have a business card that I tap like a debit card. I found this thing called dot I can tap it on someone’s phone and it automatically transfers my virtual business card to them.

I still have business cards but find that I only
Hand them out when I’m dealing with certain crowds or the elderly specifically who may not be tech savvy.

With LinkedIn, it’s become harder and harder to carry them. I’d rather just connect over LI

    10. I just use tack.host instead. I have my LinkedIn, social pages, contact info, demo links, pricing sheets, etc all in one spot with easy QR sharing.

Was using Blinq before but it was too limited imo.

    11. For me they worked surprisingly well. I don’t hand them out randomly, only when I’ve actually talked to someone and it makes sense. That’s how I got two small collaborations last year.

    12. Yes I have them on hand and update annually. Purely networking.

Financiers and older folk I’ve had success with that. I have proxy social media and a website set up but the personalized business card makes them feel like they’re getting a personal number

It’s not my personal cell but I’m okay with them thinking that

    13. It depends what business it is. People ask me all the time for a card and surprisingly I get new customers from it. In my house cleaning businesses I don’t think we got 5 calls over 20 years from a business card. My grandson has a junk removal business and he gets calls all the time from them. We used to have a marketing agency and I don’t think we ever got 1 call from a business card.

For me, it depends on the business as to what the card looks like. If I want it to kinda show off then I have a fancy one made but if I just want it to bring in a new customer or 2 then I leave it very simple.

    14. I still heavily use them, and in conjunction with digital cards. It’s like a little post-it note that I can write specific tidbits on when having a conversation. The ones I make for clients don’t have a coated back so they’re easy to write on and for service businesses I turn it into a small estimate form.

I keep cards people give me in my empty boxes as a file.

    15. Never used them. @ my username or personal website does the trick. As every of my online profiles and sites are optimized so they’d be willing to connect and work with me without being sold to.
