The founder of chat gpt often says that if a founder can’t clearly explain what their startup does in one sentence (around 25 words), it’s probably not focused enough.
I’ve found this surprisingly hard… but also very clarifying.
How would you describe your startup in 25 words or less?
Was it easy or did you struggle?
Do you think this is actually a good test, or too simplistic?
Can you explain your startup in 25 words or less?

I can do it in 4: Specialized Medical Supply Distribution
To expand: I buy medical supplies from manufacturers, store them, and distribute them to hospitals, clinics and clients.
Def very difficult. But important. Here is my attempt for 25 words exactly:
Not another budgeting app. Krona learns what matters to you and handles the rest. You don’t check in on Krona, Krona checks in on you.
Let me try with 3: Community Owned Tech
We build open source tools for the community, as transparent and accountable alternatives to big tech offerings like ChatGpt.
It’s a great test because many founders try to sell features without fully understanding what problem they’re actually attempting to solve, and where the pain point is in current workflows or infrastructure.
Then they get confused when nobody buys their “Uber for turtles” or whatever.
I did this for years trying to apply my solution to many problems and seeing 100 ways it could go instead of just drilling down to one problem and solving it well.
Now that I solve a real problem, my SaaS actually makes money.
In short: my software is the fastest way to share digital content with a room full of people.
This is actually harder than it sounds lol. I’ve tried doing it before and realized I didn’t really understand my own idea yet. Feels simple, but it definitely forces you to get honest about what you’re building.
BS, I can take as many words as I want to explain my business, everything just have to make sense
Buying and selling shit irl
