We got my wife a new car a week and a half ago, it had 100 miles on it. Unfortunately a large tree fell on it and we are 99% sure it’s totaled. Is there any reason not to get a new lease before waiting for insurance to do their thing? The new lease for this car is going up starting January 1.

You can start the process but I would at least wait and have a conversation with claims to make sure it is all going the right direction.
What did insurance say? I had a 6 month lease that a tree fell on during a Christmas Eve rain/wind storm. It was water-damaged and totaled. I got a new lease 11 days later. Are you going through the same dealer?

See these two. Front windshield, roof, rear door won’t close
Yikes! I truly hope you bought GAP insurance with that lease.

That really socks man! Hope things go your way. Try to have a Merry Christmas. Life sure gets in the way sometimes.
