I’m on disability, which gives me access to a social worker who I met recently, she told me about how she had another person on disability who was going back to school like I am and through a program or something for those on disabilities she had put him in had cleared his student debt,
She said it’s a retroactive thing assuming that means it will take care of my student debt after graduating?
Does anyone know what this program might be for a Maryland student?
Also any grants or scholarships for a guy on disability?
My concern about student loans kinda went away…

It sounds like this person was talking about disability discharge. https://studentaid.gov/articles/tpd/
There is some fine print though.
Biden’s presidency took measures to make the discharge process go more smoothly for some. This could theoretically be undone in the future.
Disability discharge is only for federal loans. Federal loan limits are lower than many expect. Generally speaking it can only be done once without showing evidence the disability worsened.
