I have amex BCP. In short, it no longer makes sense for me. The perks (disney plus discount, streaming discount), I'm getting now from other sources.
The 6 percent back on grocery is nice, but I don't want to pay an annual fee, and I think for me it makes sense to just use "online purchase" from grocery store apps to maximize purchase with CSP or BOA CCR.
My annual fee is due in Feb. I have heard you should just wait for it to hit, then cancel right after. But if I don't plan on using this card again, does that matter? I plan on downgrading to AMEX BCE.
Best time to downgrade AMEX BCP? I don't want to pay annual fee

You can downgrade before the AF hits and avoid the fee entirely. The whole “wait for it to hit then cancel” thing is more for when you’re trying to squeeze out retention offers or if you want to keep the card open for a bit longer. Since you’re already set on downgrading to BCE, just call them in January and get it switched over
