Could expired plates cause a claim to be denied for a car accident?

a car turned left in a no left (also didn’t yield to me) as i was going straight 35 mph. i’m meeting the assessor tomorrow and im sure they’ll be put at fault. i noticed my plates are expired 2 months. i moved and didn’t update address yet on license so i never got the renewal and forgot

other research shows it won’t really matter and that it’s more of a law issue where i could get ticketed but not claims denied. anyone able to give me insight? thanks
