Hey all, I got rear-ended a couple of months ago and my car has now been fully repaired. Everything was handled through insurance, but I’m wondering how diminished value claims work. I’ve heard you can get compensated if the accident lowers your car’s resale value even after repairs, but I have no idea where to start.
    1. Is it worth going after diminished value at all?
    2. Do I file with the at-fault driver’s insurer?
    3. Do I absolutely need an appraisal, or can I use an online tool?

Would love tips from anyone who’s actually gone through this, especially if you used SnapClaim or something similar. I already got the free diminished value estimate from SnapClaim.

    Thanks!

How do I go about filing a diminished value claim, and is it worth it?

    1. Do you plan on giving vehicle information and the state where the claim happened?

Otherwise I’m going to assume your vehicle is a 20yo kia

I’m in a similar situation, but I want a cash payout claim for damages first and not proceed with repairs. I’m also have a claim for loss of wages since it happened in my Uber Vehicle while active trip. Can I also claim dimished value? My car is a 2021 Model Y. Excellent condition. Clean title, owned outright. They were at fault

      Can I claim all 3?
