Ok I flipped my truck and they totaled it. Now, the lady said she’d call us back but didn’t for around a week, which is fine I don’t really care we’re not dying for a truck. Now when she calls us back to finally straighten things out. Apparently the truck is now in Kentucky(the crash was in NH????) and they gave us a 7 day extension on th rental so they could process the payout on the truck.

The truck if it matters was a 2006 F350 Lariat 6.0

Did they screw us and auction it without us knowing? I feel like the 7 day extension is so they can figure out wtf happened to th truck. I’m pissed cause I want it back and we never got th option to buy it back.

I have a question about if my insurance screwed me

    1. Did you tell them you wished to retain title?

If it flipped would it stand to reason the damage is pretty bad?

    2. I don’t think we have enough info to say. Generally vehicles are not sold to an auction company until everything is signed and done.

Sometimes when a vehicle is a total loss we tow it to the auctions lot and maybe their’s is in a different state. But until you have accepted a payout you can ask to retain salvage.

    3. Did this just happen within the last two weeks? Did you already sign the POA and give them the title?

Payment is made to you once they have the signed title and POA, but the sale of the vehicle to the salvage yard cannot be completed until the title is registered in the insurance company’s name. So, even if they have the title, I can assure you, the salvage isn’t complete in two weeks or less.

More than likely, the vehicle was just moved or originally taken to a different lot. It’s really not that unusual if they’re going to be retaining the vehicle.
