Trump halts all offshore wind leases for projects under construction due to ‘national security risks’. Five Atlantic Coast projects are affected. The latest move arrives after a federal judge threw out Trump’s order against wind projects. Critics have questioned the national-security argument.

This is all just to help oil. If you really had a national security issue, you’d want the wind turbines to generate power because it’s another source of energy.

      This argument is complete bullshit

    2. There absolutely is a huge emergency, an emergency for the fossil fuel industries.

The gas and oil glut hasn’t even started yet and these trends are about to accelerate hard. When demand collapses this fast, don’t expect a calm response. Expect desperation, market games, and geopolitical stunts from petrostates, oil companies, and the politicians they’ve captured. The world’s about to get messy. We’ll be told this is about “security,” while taxpayers bankroll defense budgets to muscle cheap oil out of places like Venezuela, because high-cost domestic oil can’t compete in a world that needs less of it every year.

See: “Emerging economies are outpacing advanced markets in EV uptake.

The payoff is clear – EVs use three times less energy than petrol and diesel cars, which can cut fossil demand by:
      🇧🇷 94% in Brazil
🇮🇩 Nearly half in Indonesia, despite a fossil-heavy grid” https://ember-energy.org/latest-insights/the-ev-leapfrog-how-emerging-markets-are-driving-a-global-ev-boom/

Years ago, Trump lost a legal battle regarding offshore wind farms by his golf course in Scotland, and so of course he’s carried a massive, festering chip on his shoulder ever since.
