I was so disappointed in the 2nd one, leaving me with no desire to watch any more of this franchise.
$50 for two tickets for a movie i wanted to walk out of the entire 2nd half of the movie, James Cameron isn’t ripping me off again.

    2. I remember the first time I saw the trailer pop up- randomly buried in my youtube feed, no fanfare, no “release”, no hype . I hadn’t even realized the 3rd was imminent. The first 20 sec or so I watched I was skeptical, like it was one of those bogus fan/AI made trailers. It wasn’t until I was into it I realized it was a legit trailer for the 3rd movie.

The story has been told, Cameron is just wasting money on top tier CGI. Work on the script and story!!!

    4. Saw it, it was Meh. No storyline, same world/animals as in 1 & 2.

And they went 3 for 3 with both the hero and the villain. Kind of boring, waaaay too long and only funny on occasion. Would not recommend!

Loved the first one, second one was ok third was Meh

It’s almost as if people just watched these movies cause they were visually pretty but now by the 3rd one nobody gives a shit cause they have a terrible story that nobody remembers.

Besides the Ash Navi, it was pretty much a re-hash of the second movie. I really wish they focused more on the Ash people instead of Whale Wars pt. 2

    7. They are shit movies anyway. They are literally just “look what we can do with visual technology! don’t worry about a story line or characters that matter, just look at how pretty!”

    8. Since I can’t even get tickets until around 26 December, when I’ll have a chance to see it with my daughter, I don’t know how the fuck this number is even being calculated.

    9. I’m watching Anaconda instead. At least I’ll laugh and won’t be falling asleep cause it’s a 3 hrs long movie. Who has the time Cameron????

Saw it last weekend. I really loved the first Avatar, both back when it came out and later. Saw the second in theaters. It had lost some of it’s magic, but I still enjoyed it. Hoped the 2nd was a filler and 3rd would be return to form. It’s Cameron after all.

I still kind of guilty-liked enjoyed watching it, and there’s definitely areas it does well – but overall it’s a dissapointing experience. I can see why it didnt do well. The writing, plot and characters all feel forgettable. The world loses more of it’s magic and starts to blend. There’s no character progression or pacing of the overall plot. Each movie feels more like it could be a standalone in a shared universe, rather than a trilogy.

Hard to say what went wrong, but it’s pretty dissapointing that all we’ll have left from the last 13 years or so is one good movie and a dead franchise.

    11. We watched this over the weekend because my daughter was begging. Packed theater. But we aren’t in the USA.
