Hey everyone,
Small issue here which is tat I’m supposed to finalise the article for my third Economics IA, but I’m honestly not confident about my article choices so far.
ANY ARTICLES FULL OF DATA ON TARIFFS OR ANYT LIKE THAT PLS SHARE 🙏🙏🙏🙏
For context (especially for non-IB people):
An Economics IA is a short commentary (~800 words) where we take a real-world news article and apply economic theory to it (diagrams, explanations, evaluation, etc.). The article quality matters a lot because it limits how deep your analysis can go.
While my commentaries themselves were solid (analysis, diagrams, evaluation)(i think btw), the articles were ass, too descriptive / not policy-focused enough. I don’t want to make the same mistake for IA 3 (global).
So I’m asking:
- Does anyone have reliable, IA-friendly sources they consistently use?
- Or examples of “perfect” IA 3 articles (e.g. tariffs anything else pls)?
I’m looking for articles that are:
- Clearly linked to government policy or macro outcomes
- Easy to apply HL-level analysis and evaluation to
- From credible sources that IB examiners won’t question
Any help (sources, tips, or example publications) would be massively appreciated 🙏
Trying to end the IAs on a strong note after learning the hard way.
Thanks!
good news article (full of data and information etc)?
