It's been real y'all. Never thought I'd be here yet here I am. Absolutely disgusted with myself. Mostly day trades, ODTE spy/SPX, all options.

Started the year with 50k in personal and 33k in Roth. Lost a bit with yieldmax funds MSTY and ULTY, around 18k then Ended up taking out a 65k heloc and 32k personal loan.
Blew it all over leveraging trying to make back what started as some "small losses." Turns out, I really didn't know what the f I was doing and now I'm in loads of debt.

Started therapy and going to start DCA back into SCHG. Wish I never touched options. Never felt so low. Fuck.

Bro why the fuck would you do that????

    2. First picture: 25k loss? Oooof, that really sucks, but you can recover from that.

      Second picture: **Oh…**

Well at least my losses doesn’t look so bad now. Your Roth was back up for a little there at the end. What happened?

oof – the degeneracy in the ROTH…and then the 2nd one – ouch.

Stay in therapy – understand yourself and your impulses.

    5. Holy shit. You have to dig yourself out of a pretty deep hole but its just money eh. Hope you will learn from this.

    6. It’s okay. You’ll work, pay your debt each month, and try to survive, like 99% of people.

Be strong brother and don’t enter the casino again.

    7. Damn that’s some hardcore gambling addiction homey, you weren’t even significantly up at any point before you whipped up 100 Gs of debt

    8. Day trades, ODTE spy/SPX, all options…in your retirement account, and now you’re in “loads of debt.” You’re right where you belong.

I appreciate the memes from your failure, but holy shit dude, don’t do options with your retirement unless you’re wheeling. And if you insist on gambling, dont gamble with more than a couple % of your portfolio per year.

    11. Jesus, the Roth one was a bitch as right at the end he was breakeven for like 5 seconds before it all crashed again. Brutal!

    12. I just don’t get fucking up in a non taxable account – you can only put so much in and if you make too much income you’re locked out of deducting contributions

Addiction is hard to overcome, OP, which is why I recommend fighting 1 addiction with another to get your mind off your 1st addiction. Go do sports gambling.

    14. I was feeling stupid for losing a couple hundred dollars over a shit penny stock until I saw this

I really like that final dramatic ascent in your graph where for a brief moment you probably had some profit and then it descended just as fast to the bowels of despair.

This is what a severe, degenerate gambling addiction looks like. You need to help ASAP dude. Look up gambling anonymous. You gambled away your retirement income for your future and you gambled against your house. Fuck man.

Also, I hope to God you are single. If you are married and you haven’t told your wife yet…Jesus

Dont beat yourself up. These things happens to all of us. Hopefully you take this as a lesson and move on. As long you are alive, you can always work and build your wealth again. Merry Christmas 🎄

Hey man. Gambling addiction is brutal and props to you to post here knowing people will roast you. It’s an real an honest depiction of what is likely the outcome for people here. I lost thousands on 0dtes myself and had to do therapy.

Work to pay off your debt, stick to therapy, and passively invest. Take care of yourself.
